Bhubaneswar, Ap 30:  A rare turtle was rescued from the Kushabhadra River near Mania Sahi in the Aloi area of Balianta block, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. The turtle’s back displayed a distinct pattern that many locals believe resembles the face of Lord Jagannath, sparking widespread spiritual reverence among villagers.

The turtle was caught by Babana Sethi, a local resident, while fishing in the river. Upon noticing the unique markings on the turtle's shell, the villagers were quick to associate it with Lord Vishnu’s ‘Kacchapa Avatar,’ enhancing the creature’s spiritual significance.

Since the finding, the village has been immersed in a devotional atmosphere. Residents have gathered to perform bhajans and offer prayers in honor of the turtle, viewing it as a divine manifestation. The sight has drawn visitors from neighboring villages, who are flocking to see the rare creature.

In response to the growing reverence, the villagers have decided to release the turtle into the sacred Narendra Pond in Puri, a revered religious site. The release is intended as an act of respect and a gesture of faith, solidifying the turtle’s spiritual significance.
