Mumbai, April 9: After celebrating her 29th birthday in Oman, Rashmika Mandanna is back on set, diving into her work for the upcoming horror-comedy Thama, where she stars alongside Ayushmann Khurrana.

Taking to Instagram, Rashmika shared a glimpse of the night sky during her night shoots, joking, "Shooting nights for the next couple of days... So the only posts and stories you'll get from us will be of either the moon, the camera lights, or the stars (which, in our city, is impossible to see). Agreed?"
Earlier in March, Rashmika gave fans a peek behind the scenes, revealing who’s been keeping her up late with night shoots. She posted a candid photo of Thama’s director, Aditya A Sarpotdar, sitting on a plastic chair and intently watching the shoot. Alongside the photo, Rashmika humorously wrote, “My director… making me do night shoots every time… Ice bucket… story of my life."
Aditya quickly reshared the photo, adding, “Where mortals fear the night, the vampires find their power.” To this, Rashmika responded, “Wise words. He knows exactly how to make a Thama (vampire) happy!”
Thama revolves around a determined historian who delves into ancient manuscripts, uncovering dark secrets about local vampire myths, as supernatural forces begin to rise. His journey not only unearths forgotten history but also sparks a fierce battle for the soul of the town.
This marks the first collaboration between Rashmika, Ayushmann, and director Aditya Sarpotdar, whose previous work includes Munjya. Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, Thama is written by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew, and Arun Fulara. The film, presented by Maddock Films, will also feature Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in key roles. As part of Maddock’s successful horror-comedy universe, Thama promises to be a captivating love story set against a thrilling, blood-soaked backdrop.
