Simlipal Tiger Reserve wildlife sanctaury located in the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, India, is one of the largest tiger reserves in the country and a part of the Simlipal Biosphere Reserve. The reserve is known for its rich biodiversity, scenic beauty, and cultural significance. Similipal comes under Deccan Peninsular Bio-geographic Zone, Chhotanagpur Province and Mahanadian Region. The vast terrain of Similipal with wide altitudinal, climatic and topographic variations, criss-crossed by large number of perennial streams, harbours a unique blend of Western Ghats, Eastern Ghats and Sub-Himalayan plant species.

By Train

From Balasore, take a taxi or a bus to reach Baripada or Jashipur, the gateways to Simlipal.
By Road
From Bhubaneswar: 195 km via NH 16 and NH 18 (approx. 4–5 hours).
From Kolkata: 250 km via NH 16 (approx. 6–7 hours).
Regular buses and private taxis are available from Bhubaneswar, Balasore, and Kolkata to Baripada or Jashipur.
