Bhubaneswar, Apr 14: Lightning, thunderstorms and gusty winds of 40-50 km/hr are likely to hit several districts of Odisha from April 15 to 18, predicted the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

As per the Met Department, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph are likely to occur during the afternoon and evening hours across several districts in the state from April 15 to April 18.
Here’s the forecast breakdown for the next four days:
For April 15: Thunderstorm and lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two over of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar districts.
For April 16: Thunderstorms and lightning are likely to occur in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Sundargarh, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri districts. The IMD has issued yellow warning for these districts.
For April 17: Thunderstorm and lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph are likely to occur in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangapur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts.
For April 18: Thunderstorm and lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph are likely to occur in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangapur and Rayagada districts. The IMD has issued yellow warning for these districts.
