Bhubaneswar, Nov 14: The Commissionerate of police has issued a traffic advisory in view for the much-awaited Cuttack Bali Yatra 2024, which will take place from November 15 to November 22, 2024. To ensure public safety, security and smooth traffic flow, several restrictions have been put in place, particularly from 2 pm until the crowd disperses.
Key Traffic Restrictions:
Light Vehicles:
-Vehicles coming from Bhubaneswar via Nandankanan, Baranga, and Trisulia will park at designated spots near Netaji Setu and Biju Pattanaik Park. From there, shuttle bus services will take visitors to the Bali Yatra ground.
-Vehicles from Athagarh and Banki will also park at Biju Pattanaik Park or Maa Bhuasuni parking grounds and use shuttle buses to reach the festival venue.
Two-Wheelers:
-Riders from Satichaura Chhak, Shelter Chhak, and Kanika Chhak can park at Dayashrama or Katikeswar parking grounds and access shuttle services.
-Vehicles coming from Chahata Chhak will be redirected to Maa Bhnuasuni parking ground. Only two-wheelers will be allowed to proceed from this point towards Bali Yatra.
Parking Locations:
-Designated parking areas include Bhuasuni Padia, Christian Padia, Dayashrama, Kartikeswar Gada (both sides), Christian Field, and Gora Kabar, with additional spaces near BOSE Engineering College and
Matamatha Chhak.
Restrictions on Entry:
-No four-wheelers or three-wheelers will be allowed to enter the Bali Yatra grounds from various key points, including Chahata Chhak, Deer Park Chhak, and Biju Pattanaik Chhak. Vehicles will be directed to park at the designated lots mentioned above.
Exit Points:
-Vehicles parked in Parking Areas A, B, and C will exit via Silver City Boat Club Road and take a left turn towards Matamatha Chhak. Vehicles from Kartikeswar Parking will exit via Chahata Chhak.
Heavy Vehicles:
-The movement of heavy vehicles will be completely restricted along Mahandi Ring Road and the periphery of the Bali Yatra ground from November 15 to 22.
Emergency Vehicles:
-Police, Fire Brigade, Excise, Ambulance, and other emergency vehicles are exempt from these restrictions.
-The Commissionerate Police has urged the public to plan their travel routes accordingly to avoid inconvenience. Violating these traffic regulations is an offense punishable under Section 96 of the Odisha Urban Police Act-2003, with fines ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 1,000 per violation.
