According to the Met department, the low-pressure area over the south Bay of Bengal has intensified and moved northwestward. Under its influence, light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur in several districts of Odisha.

As per the prediction, light rain is expected in Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts today. Similarly, the Sundargarh, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangapur, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar districts are likely to experience rainfall on April 9.

The rain in Odisha is likely to come with thunderstorms and strong winds. The Regional Meteorological Department has said that the weather will be most active around April 10 and 11.

Because of the low-pressure system, daytime temperatures may drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, giving some relief from the heat.

The rain is expected to continue through April 12 and 13, with varying levels of intensity across different regions of Odisha.
