4 children die of suffocation after getting locked in car in Gujarat

Amreli, Nov 4: Four children died of suffocation after getting locked in a car while playing in Gujarat, police said Monday.

The incident took place at Randhiya village in Amreli district on Saturday. The victims have been identified as children of a farm labourer couple hailing from Dhar in Madhya Pradesh said Amreli  police.

The incident took place when the parents had gone to work leaving their seven children at home. Four of the children entered the car of the farm owner parked near their house while playing hide and seek.

The four victims, in the age group of two to seven, got locked from inside and died of suffocation, the police said.

When their parents and the car owner returned in the evening, they found the bodies.

We have registered a case of accidental death and further investigation was under way, said police.
