Balangir, February 4: Two officials of the Badmal Ordnance Factory in Odisha’s Balangir were put under suspension on Tuesday after a huge cache of bombs produced here were seized from a goods wagon at the Balangir railway station.
The suspendend officials have been identified as Sushanta Panigrahi and Budha Behera, Work Managers Stores.
Railway officials today recovered as many as 12 bombs from a goods wagon at Kantabanji Railway Station in Odisha's Balangir district, raising serious security concerns.
The bombs were found to be produced by the Ordnance Factory Badmal (OFBL) in Saintala and have been returned to them. It manufactures arms, ammunitions, explosives and other equipment.
As per reports, the bombs were discovered during a routine inspection. However, how they ended up in the railway wagon is yet to be ascertained.
A high-level investigation into the matter is underway, informed railway authorities.
