Hyderabad, Feb 4: Odisha Tourism kicked off its campaign to boost both inbound and domestic tourism today with a roadshow in Hyderabad. The event, organized in collaboration with FICCI, featured over 40 travel operators and 20 tourism investors from Hyderabad, engaging in a series of B2B interactions.
The state is actively promoting its tourism sector by showcasing its wide range of attractions, from cultural heritage sites and waterfalls to wildlife, local cuisine, hills, and Buddhist circuits. A key part of this effort is the Eco Retreat Odisha, a popular three-month glamping festival that has garnered considerable attention. The roadshow, held at Taj Krishna in Hyderabad, included informative sessions and interactive engagements with travel operators and tourism stakeholders.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida attended the event and emphasized the state's commitment to creating a pro-investment environment. She noted that Odisha's rich tourism offerings, combined with its tranquil landscapes, present a golden opportunity for investors to thrive in one of India's most promising tourism markets. She highlighted the state’s growing significance on the national tourism map and the government's dedication to enhancing the sector.
Commissioner-cum-Secretary of Tourism, Balwant Singh, also spoke about Odisha’s vast tourism potential and the state’s efforts to become a premier destination for domestic tourists. He underscored the excellent road network connecting Odisha to neighboring states, making it more accessible for travelers. His presentation focused on opportunities for investors and tourism stakeholders, with an emphasis on strategic investments and infrastructure development to foster growth in the sector.
Lokesh Kumar, Head of the PMU at Odisha Tourism, highlighted the government’s efforts to streamline the process for tourism operators, DMCs, and investors, ensuring they can maximize their contributions to the industry’s growth.
The Odisha Tourism delegation, led by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, also held discussions with prominent industry figures, including Rohit Matta, Director of Sensation Infracom Pvt. Ltd.; Suryaveer Singh, Director of Trance Managed Hotels; Akhilesh Reddy, Chairman & MD of Formula 4 Racing Promotions Pvt.; and Vinay Hegde & Gunanath of Sunburn. These discussions centered around the development of hotels, resorts, and concert-related infrastructure in Odisha, in collaboration with the Tourism Department. The proposed partnerships aim to enhance the state's hospitality offerings, providing a broader range of accommodation options for both domestic and international visitors.
