Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s ace women cyclists Swasti Singh added another feather on her cap by winning gold medal in the individual 3000m individual pursuit with a timing of 04.03. 255 in the ongoing 38th National Games at the Shivalik Velodrome, Rudrapur Stadium in Uttarakhand on Tuesday. Her state-mate Rejiya Khoirom clocked 04.10.876 to finish third.
As on today, Odisha pocketed a total 17 medals including 5 Gold, 3 silver and 9 bronze medals and placed on 13th on the medal table.
The women swimming squad comprising of Pratyasa Ray, Shrishti Upadhyay, Mannata Mishra, Anshika Sahu, Dibyanka Dibyajyoti Pradhan and Arushree Dutta bagged a team gold and four individual bronze medals and for the first time claimed the overall second runners up trophy with 48 points. Karnataka and Maharashtra finished champion and 1st runners up with 140 and 115 points respectively.
Odisha women’s football team barged into the final to face Haryana. In today’s semifinal matches, Odisha edged out Delhi 5-1, while Haryana won over West Bengal by 4-1 goals.
