New Delhi, April 29: At a time when the Indian Army is readying its forces for a quicker ‘tit-for- tat’ to the Pak terrorists, after the Pahalgam attack, Pak-based cyber attacker have eyed the Indian Army sites, to hack them in a bid to spy India’s strategic move on the national issue.
However, India thwarted the cyber-attack bid endeavoured by Pak-based IOK-hacker, with coordinated efforts.
Intelligence sources confirmed that four incidents tied to a handful cyber attacker were foiled with due interventions.
The hacker bid reportedly attempted by a notorious group, known as "IOK Hacker" – short for Internet of Khilafah –to deface websites, disrupt services, and collect personal data from as many as four sites related to Indian forces.
The suspicious activities were swiftly detected by the India’s multi-layered cybersecurity defense systems, and were immediately dealt with.
The cyber security sleuths detected the cyber intrusions back to Pakistani origins in real-time, and got rid of the attack.
Additionally, the hackers attempted to breach the Army Welfare Housing Organisation (AWHO) database while simultaneously trying to compromise the Indian Air Force Placement Organisation portal.
All four affected websites were immediately taken offline and subjected to restorative action, according to cyber officials.
No classified or operational systems were breached, highlighting the strong defensive protocols currently in place. These cyber sabotage attempts reflect not only the adversary's intent but also their inability to make any meaningful dent in Indian defense infrastructure.
