Four arrested for attack on former BJD MLA in Odisha’s Jajpur

Bhubaneswar, April 15: Four individuals have been arrested by Dharamsala police in connection with the recent attack on the vehicle of former BJD MLA Pranab Balabantaray in Odisha’s Jajpur district.

According to the SDPO, the accused have been forwarded to the local court for remand.

The incident occurred on Sunday in Aruha village when Balabantaray was reportedly heading to attend a religious event at the site of the Hingula Yajna. Unidentified miscreants allegedly targeted his vehicle, leading to a tense situation in the area.

The sudden attack caused panic among locals and drew a large crowd.

Police quickly reached the spot, managed the crowd, and restored order. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Balabantaray has alleged the involvement of individuals linked to the stone mafia of Dankari area, claiming they were behind the assault.
