ITF World Tennis Tour M25 begins

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to provide international exposure to local tennis players, the Odisha Tennis Association is hosting the ITF World Tennis Tour M25 Bhubaneswar at Kalinga Stadium here from 3rd to 10th November 2024. Altogether five Odia players got wildcard entry, while three will play in the main draw and two players to take part in the qualification round.  

Three Odisha players Kabir Hans, Amrutjaya Mohanty and Pratyusa Mohanty got wildcard entry in the 32 main draw and Debasis Sahoo, Aditya Satapathy in the 62 qualifying rounds.  

Talking about the importance of the tournament, OTA Joint Secretary and Tournament Director Sanjeeb Panda said “Dalibor Svrcina of Czech Republic with 278 ATP ranking is the top-rated player of the tournament, while Sasikumar Mukund is the Indian top-rated players with 410 ATP ranking. The champion of the tournament will get 25 ATP ranking points. The players will be eligible to get ATP points and cash award from the first win of the meet’.   

OTA Secretary Satyajit Mohanty in a Press Meet here on today expressed “total 88 players from 11 countries will fight for the top honour. The tournament features a total cash award of 25,000 Dollars and the champion will receive a cash award of 3,600 Dollars”.   

Among others, Tournament Director and Joint Sanjeeb Panda, Bijay Kumar Swain joint secretary Sports and Youth Services Department, Prabir Nayak Technical Expert and Avishek Mukherjee ITF Supervisor were present.
