Bhubaneswar, April 19: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today felicitated internationally renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik at Lok Seva Bhawan, following his win of the prestigious ‘Sand Master’ Award in the United Kingdom.
Pattnaik made the nation proud by becoming the first Indian to receive this honour at the International Sand Art Festival held in Weymouth, Dorset. Hailing the artist’s remarkable achievement, CM Majhi described Pattnaik as a “true asset of Odisha” and expressed confidence that he would continue to earn global accolades for both the state and the country.
During the felicitation ceremony, Pattnaik presented his award medal, certificate, and photographs of his sand art to the Chief Minister. In return, CM Majhi honoured him with a ceremonial shawl and floral bouquet as a token of appreciation.
Earlier, both the President of India and the Prime Minister had also congratulated Pattnaik on his achievement.
