Cuttack, July 12: Bidanasi police on Thursday started questioning Ollywood actress Riya Dey following a minor girl torture case filed against her. The case was transferred from Chandrasekharpur police station in Bhubaneswar to Bidanasi police station, where the actress was interrogated on Thursday. On Friday, a team from Cuttack police will visit to Bhubaneswar to take the victim's statement.
The Ollywood actress had hired a minor girl from Salepur to work as a house help at their residence in Cuttack. However, the actress and her husband allegedly subjected the girl to frequent mistreatment for any errors she made. They reportedly verbally abused her, and recently, Riya's husband allegedly struck the girl's head with a liquor bottle.
Following this incident, the girl managed to escape and fled to Bhubaneswar, where she was rescued by child welfare authorities. A complaint was subsequently filed with Chandrasekhapur police, leading to the registration of a case against the actress and her husband. The case was later transferred to Bidanasi police station in Cuttack.
