Bhubaneswar, Apr 13: Rainfall along with thunderstorms caused by Kalabaishakhi (Nor’wester) will continue in Odisha till April 18, predicted the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
According to the forecast, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar districts may experience rainfall with thunder and lightning on Sunday. Wind speeds may reach 30 to 40 km/h in these areas.
Rain is also likely in different parts of coastal and southern Odisha during this period.
On April 14, heavy rain and thunderstorms with wind speeds of 40 to 50 km/h are expected in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Sundargarh districts. Heavy rainfall is especially likely in Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
On Saturday, Baripada recorded 40 mm of rain between morning and evening. Other districts like Khordha, Nayagarh, Daringbadi, and Angul also received rainfall.
