Bhubaneswar, April 29: The Indian Meteorological Department has on Tuesday issued orange and yellow warnings for thunderstorms with lightning, gusty winds (50–60 km/h), hailstorms, and heavy rain across several Odisha districts on April 30, especially during afternoon and evening hours.
An upper-air trough is influencing the weather, with an orange warning in effect for Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, and Kendrapara.
A yellow warning covers Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Angul, and Dhenkanal, while thunderstorms (without heavy rain) are likely in many other districts, including Puri, Khurda, Ganjam, and Koraput.
Thunderstorm activity is expected to continue till May 3, with no major change in day temperatures for the next four days. A 2–4°C rise is likely afterward.
