Bhubaneswar, March 7: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday held a preparatory meeting on Wednesday with the representatives of the sevayat groups and trust bodies of Lingaraj temple for smooth conduct of the Jagara Jatra (Maha Shivaratri) celebrations.

The meeting discussed on the festival arrangements in and outside the 11th century shrine
Arrangements hava been made for 24 hour sanitation and sanitary workers will be deployed in three phases.
Bhogamandap, Jagamohan, Chahani Mandap North Gate and South Gate of the temple, Kedargouri and Mukeswat temples will be decorated with lights. The power department has been entrusted for light decoration of the temple and its surroundings.
Besides, the BMC will spend Rs 40,000 for flower decoration of the temple. The meeting also focused on drinking water supply and toilet facilities for devotees.
BMC Hospital doctors, paramedical staff will be present at temporary camps for emergency medical treatment with availability of ambulances.
The BMC has started encroachment drive to evict makeshift shops and illegal constructions.
