Singapore, Apr 12: The High Commission of India in Singapore recently organized Odisha Food Festival and treated over 120 special guests with delicacies from the Odia cuisine.
The three-day festival was held from April 10-12 and organized in collaboration with Odisha Tourism, Global Schools Foundation (GSF), Singapore, and Odia Society Singapore.
The High Commission organized a special Odia cuisine lunch for representatives from the Singapore Government, media, academia, business, and community organizations as part of the Festival.
The event celebrated Odisha's rich and diverse food traditions by serving a variety of authentic dishes to the guests and highlighted the state's culture and tourism.
As part of the Festival, an Odia cooking workshop was held on April 10, 2025, where chefs taught eager participants how to make traditional Odia dishes.
Odisha Tourism had sent two skilled chefs from the state to take part in the Festival.
Chef Vijay Pradhan from Nimantran, part of the Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC), took the lead in preparing a variety of traditional dishes for the festival held at the GSF campus.
The relations between Odisha and Singapore grew stronger after Singapore’s President Tharman Shanmugaratnam visited Odisha during his State Visit to India in January 2025. Earlier in November 2024, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi had also visited Singapore.
The Odisha Food Festival has helped raise awareness about Odisha in Singapore and has further strengthened the relation between the two.
